Usually cameras are allowed..
Some years ago (approx 10) you had to leave the camera behind (Louvre) the last
years this has not been required. However tri-pods are forbidden or you do at least
have to pay a hefty fee as you are considered being a pro.. Greek museums follow this
rule.
