I known this is a question related to various licensing problems of the Photo CD technology from Kodak. However, as Photo CD is more and more useful in various professional applications, many people would like to be able to generate PCD (image packs) files from their pictures files, and put these images packs on an ISO cd-rom, eventually as a true Photo CD. Kodak only sells its photo cd imaging station based on a scanner, a Sun sparc station, and a cd writer. It's quite expensive and closed. I think they do not sell any complete solution running on Mac and PC, and allowing to take pictures from other sources than argentic films. I known "Photocopy" made by CE-Quadra and sold by Philips, which allows to do just that on a PC. It uses the WinOnCD software as low-level ISO cd-rom mastering software. It allows to make Photo CD portfolio (low-res pictures with DA sound tracks) and master Photo CD from files in BMP or other popular pictures formats. Are there other programs doing that? Also are there any programs able to convert pictures files to PCD (image packs) ? Thanks, Yves Bernard ybernard@ub4b.eunet.be Brussels, Belgium
