: Can anyone offer any suggestions to the following problem:

: I just got some photos put on a CD. I loaded one of those photos into Kodak
: PhotoEdge, at size 2048 x 3072. Because I only have 8MB RAM I utilized my
: Virtual Memory to create enough "fake" RAM to load it up. Once it finally
: loaded up I saved it as a .tif file. And after it was finally saved as a
: .tif file I exited PhotoEdge, and entered Corel Photo Shop.

: From Corel I then attempted to load up the .tif file (it was about 18
: megs big). Somewhere Corel PhotoShop experienced a problem. Whatever
: problem it encountered it effected my hard drives in a strange way. It
: told me my drive c: only has 32MB (though it had approx. 98MB before I
: started this process). It also said my drive d: had 55MB (though it had
: 85MB before I started the process). I immediately erased the 18meg .tif
: file, and did a warm boot, and but there was no change. So then I did a
: cold boot; it seemed to reset something because my drive d: (where I
: keep my dos games) now said it had 85MB again, but my drive c: reamined
: the same (still saying it has only 32MB). WHY?!

: My drive c: is where I keep all my windows and applications.
: My drive d: is where I keep all my DOS games.

: Thanks for any help.

.. this might be your problem.. if you had just created the
Virtual memory.

.. if you seleceted to create a virtual drive on your C: drive and
made it permanent then Windows will make that Space "Disappear" from your
drive.. and it actually is a huge hidden file. (the virtual RAM)....

.. try disabling your virtual memory.. and see if the HD space comes
back...
