I have the Yamaha CDE-100. It is pretty good unit and most popular
CD premastering packages do support the drive. It does 4x writing
and has all the features of the Philips CDD521, which I use also.

I have done only standard ISO-9660 data only CD-Rs and have no idea
how the recorder performs with audio (mixed mode) and other formats
such as XA and CD-i. The drive is certainly capable of writing all
the formats.
