Hi,

    I have a Hitachi CDR-1503S CD-ROM drive that doesn't work right. Yes,
I know, even Hitachi told me to stop trying and just buy a newer drive,
but I want to get this one working. :)

Sometimes it'll work for a few minutes. Then it'll stop spinning, click,
then spin up again. Then stop, click, spin. It just keeps repeating that.

Any suggestions about what might be happening? Once, I recall that I took
a regular size air fan and pointed it at the drive with the case off. I
believe that prolonged the usable time, but I was afraid to continue that
since it was probably just covering the problem up.

Any help you could give me would be appreciated...
