What makes the drivers so large is the buffers that get set up. If you 
are using the latest version of smartdrive  and dos 6.2, then smartdrive 
will cache your cdrom so you can shrink the buffers down to the bear  
minimum.  I think the buffers are the /m option but i may wrong.
