   There's at least a local store here (Montreal, Canada) that can get
these cables. Thing is, you have to specify what's on each end of
the cable. They order it from some place in the US, I don't know where.

   So these cable really exists, you just have to find a place that can
get them. I'd suggest some professional computer store, a place where
enterprises do business. Their prices are usually higher, but they
have more specialized suppliers.

   Another thing you could do is make the cable yourself. A friend 
gave a cable that had the right connectors for my Plextor CD-ROM
and SB-PRO, but with a wrong wire setup. The right setup is in the
CD-ROM and soundcard manuals, so you just have to 'patch' the cable
to your needs, if the connectors are OK. 

   BTW, as much as I tried, I couldn't get these connectors in any
electronic stores, so they seems to be highly specialized.
