The vmx file is here for windows clients, whose hardware is described slightly differently in this file to Linux.

Simply replace the vmx file that comes in the appliance swexpress2patch7.tar.bz2 with this file and the errors shown at startup using vmware player will stop.

You can manually edit the vmx file contained in this appliance or the beta appliance by doing the following:

If you open the vmx file included in the tar file and edit as follows:

ide1:0.present = "TRUE"
ide1:0.fileName = "auto detect"
ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw"

floppy0.fileName = "A:"

and remove or comment out with a # this line from the end of the file:

ethernet1.vnet = "/dev/vmnet1"
